Applying for a Divorce - What you need
Two years of marriage
To get a divorce you need to have been married for at least 2 years - see exemptions.
One year of separation
You need to have been separated for 12 months.
Australian jurisdiction
You can apply for a divorce in Australia if either you or your spouse:-
Marriage Certificate
You will need a copy of your marriage certificate. Click here if you don't have one or here if it is not in English.
Proper arrangements made for children
You will need to show the court that proper arrangements have been made for all children under 18.
